We count on your donations to continue our life-saving work. As a non-profit organization with no paid staff members, our dedicated volunteers work tirelessly on behalf of local animals. And our efforts are paying off. Our innovative programs have been credited with reducing the number of animals who are euthanized at our local animal control facility. Our dream is that one day, no adoptable animals will be killed in area shelters. We thank you for helping us realize this dream.Visit the donation page to see where your money goes.
UPDATE 3-2-09: Roscoe went to the specialist last week. It took longer than we hoped for him to get an appointment. It seems he has a slightly dislocated shoulder, but also a fracture. A piece of bone is broken off. Strangely, he seems to be feeling the pain in his elbow. The surgeon wants to speak with his colleague so they can formulate a surgical plan for him. He is doing well, loves to play with the sisters in his foster home, and has now learned what a toy is. He is slower to learn what is not a toy, but making progress with that as well! For now, he is on a medical hold until his surgery.
UPDATE 2-8-09: Roscoe is now in a foster home and will be evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon in the coming week. (He will also be evaluated by the canine sisters in his foster home to see what they think of him too!)
1-20-09 Help! Roscoe is in another shelter and needs either an adopter or a foster home ASAP. He is a very sweet dog who has an injured shoulder. We will pay for his treatment if we can find him a place to recover from surgery.
He is about 2 years old and weighs 30 pounds. He has been fine with the dogs and cats he has met, and despite not feeling great, he has handled his injury like a trouper and never lost his good temperament.
It is hard to turn away from his big, soft brown eyes, and we are hoping we can help him. He really deserves a chance.
