We count on your donations to continue our life-saving work. As a non-profit organization with no paid staff members, our dedicated volunteers work tirelessly on behalf of local animals. And our efforts are paying off. Our innovative programs have been credited with reducing the number of animals who are euthanized at our local animal control facility. Our dream is that one day, no adoptable animals will be killed in area shelters. We thank you for helping us realize this dream.Visit the donation page to see where your money goes.

PLEASE NOTE we are only taking phone inquiries for Baxter. Please call 410.880.2488 #3 after reading his description. Baxter is not in the shelter, but in a foster home in our Rescue Program. This little cutie is only a year old, but has had a rough start. He is loving and affectionate and just wants to bond with someone and have a stable life. At this time, we feel he will do best as an only dog. He is super, super smart and loves to learn, and will excel with positive reinforcement, attention, and kindness. He would make a good walking partner and gets excited when he sees his harness coming so he can stick his little head through! He is so happy getting to run around in a fenced yard. He is uncertain meeting some new people, and can make a scene on a leash, so adopters need to be prepared for that but don't worry, we can help. He will not eat in front of people, nor play with them yet, and that makes us sad. He will eat and play when he's by himself, then stops abruptly when he sees you, like he has gotten in trouble before for completing these most basic life tasks. He sleeps cuddled up with a stuffed animal but would prefer a live person! This is going to be the dog of a lifetime for some lucky person who is knowlegeable about dogs, or willing to learn, and who wll be just a little bit patient with him. His coat mats easily so please consider grooming costs in your decision to apply. He has a slightly luxating patella which is common in small dogs, and the vet is not recommending any treatment now, but if it worsens over time, sometimes suergery is recommended.
