There are so many good things about Raiden. He is a really smart dog that enjoys working for his toys. He know the following cues: Sit, down, paw, bang(play dead), turn around, bow, speak, come and jump up. Yes, really! He will do all of these things for you to give him his toy. He also loves to play fetch and brings the toy back.

We love working with Raiden. He is a 6 year old, neutered male Husky with gorgeous eyes. He is loyal, sweet and does great entertaining himself with his toys. He squeaks his toys and tosses them around to play. Raiden makes us laugh and smile everyday. He has a high energy level and needs playtime and multiple walks each day. Raiden greets people who visit the shelter and he has a happy silly personality. He is fun and has done well with other dogs when there are no toys around. He does not like other dogs near his toys and will tell them to back away. If you have a dog at home, you can bring them by during the Animal Viewing Hours below to see if Raiden would be a good match for them.

Now Raiden has some training that needs to be continued. He is used to running from you when in the yard, so he has to have a long line on him when he is loose in the yard so you can catch him. He is a smart dog and with training and practice, you can change this behavior. When Raiden has a toy, he also does not want a person to take it. If he picks up something he shouldn't have, he also doesn't want you to take it. This is the 2nd area where he needs training to learn to "give" what he has to you. He is very smart and treat motivated. He is also loyal and likes to be near his person, so with bonding, patience and practice, Raiden can learn to give up something for a high reward treat. Due to his resource guarding, he should not go to a home with young children. He is such a fun dog and worth a bit more training to have as a companion. We enjoy working with him, seeing his happiness and excitement in his training sessions.
