We count on your donations to continue our life-saving work. As a non-profit organization with no paid staff members, our dedicated volunteers work tirelessly on behalf of local animals. And our efforts are paying off. Our innovative programs have been credited with reducing the number of animals who are euthanized at our local animal control facility. Our dream is that one day, no adoptable animals will be killed in area shelters. We thank you for helping us realize this dream.Visit the donation page to see where your money goes.
Brandon, our sweet 4 year old Pointer mix, is just a total lovebug. At 40 pounds, he feels he is the perfect size for a lap dog. He loves to get attention, and to lay his head on your lap. He is housetrained and well-behaved in the home. Guests of the foster family have commented that they wish their own dogs were as calm and well-mannered as Brandon is.
Brandon adores people and he is serious about being the "companion" in the term "companion animal". He is not the dog for someone who wants an aloof dog. The perfect home for Brandon would be one where he can hang out with you while you read, listen to music, or garden. Then, a daily walk in which you can get your exercise and he can get to smell all the good smells. He does understand that people have to work, and handles the work day well while he is by himself.
He loves his foster sister, a 6 month old Beagle. After some brief intial grumbling, he now enjoys her company and cuddling with her. Because he was a chained dog, he sometimes acts defensive when meeting new dogs on his leash walk. Meeting strange dogs is best done slowly. If it weren't for this, Brandon would be totally perfect. But hey, who among us is.
When he is out on the town, everyone comments about how handsome he is. Brandon has something special, and is one of those dogs that people are drawn to. He is much better looking in person than he looks on the internet.
