Please allow us to introduce this handsome, gentle dog. This is Lance, a 2yr old, neutered male, Akita who weighs around 100lbs. Lance is looking for a strong, confident person who has time for some bonding. Please read his full description below to see if your home is a good match for him.

Lance needs a fenced yard that is attached to your house to keep him safe at home. The fence needs to be 6 foot or higher and needs to be strong and secure. Lance is a thinker and will see if he can get through doors and gates. We have seen Lance relax and play when he has been around another dog. Because of Lance's history, we are requiring his home have a female dog that he is comfortable interacting with. Lance needs reasons to want to stay home.

He has a gentle, low key personality. He is trying to figure out how to trust people and acts like he has not been with a person long enough where he could learn to bond. He is powerful and needs someone who can hold onto him if he is in a new situation. Lance is intelligent and food motivated. He would do well with someone who is calm, patient and gives him the time and space he needs at first, to learn to trust them. Lance is unsure meeting someone new and will need a visitor to come in, sit down and allow him to come up to them.

This beautiful dog has great potential with the right person who will spend time bonding with him. You can visit Lance during our Animal Viewing Hours.
